Let’s chat about logos
DON’T HAVE ONE?
There are multiple websites where you can PURCHASE logos such as Logo Moose and Logo Pond. Please do not visit Pinterest and find your fave logo and copy it. That’s illegal.
THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN CHOOSING/DESIGNING A LOGO:
- KISS – Keep it simple stupid (This is an advertising rule for maximum impact)
- Keep it memorable
- Make sure the font you use is legible. Check out the website ‘Da Font’, there’s a column called basic and choose sans serif. Make sure when you preview your words to select 100% free, public domain, shareware and donationware. Ethical practise. Find your fave font and click download.
- Make sure your icon is simple
- Don’t use too many colours. Max 3!! This is vital. Think of big brands. Most use 1 colour.
- It is optional to have a vertical and horizontal version of your logo but it will come in handy when doing adverts in compromising formats
- Make sure you have the following formats of your logo: png (transparent background), jpeg and pdf. AI or Svg files are even better but not necessary
- Save a white version and a coloured version in all formats so that you can use it going forward
